triple decker sled shed

Postby lwb140 » Tue May 11, 2010 9:18 pm

hello all today myself and a couple carpenders started transforming a 20x56 corn crib into the ultimate sled friendly building .the crib was originally built by my grandfather in the early late 50s with lumber harvested from here on the farm ,it was used for ear corn then shelled corn but has sat idle since the late 70s after other grain storage was built . We think we can get 2 stories 20x56 with a large loft area for bulky parts seat foams hoods gas tanks etc.
i think it will be fun to chronical this project on jds sleds with updates as it progresses and takes shape if anyone thinks its inappropriate or off topic simply say so and i will gradly remove my post , i m pretty exited to not only utilize this stucture for something fun but also have a dedicated place to store and wrench on my sleds and parts which currently are jambed in where ever i can find a spot with 20 or so beached outside. check out the pics i will post more as things take shape if anyone has any ideas or comments please share as i only want to do this once wade

I like the concept. Way better than mowing around snowmobiles!

Nice project Wade. Lucky you had a good solid crib to start from. My barn project was a mess, and had to replace half the foundation before I could even get to work on the barn itself.

Good luck with it!
