"John Deere" Joe Rainville becomes a Texan

Postby WinnipegStPaul9 » Sat Jul 17, 2010 2:39 pm

According to Facebook (and Facebook doesn't lie), our very own Tech Editor JD Joe is about to become a "Texan". At least where work is involved. I still think he should take his "projects" with him and work on them in the Texas heat. Seriously Joe, best of luck and please stay in touch with us.
Oh, by the way a year ago right now Patty and I were in Fort Worth and it was 109 degrees......... :brrr:

Facebook= Takes the place of actually having to talk to people and where you can become "friends" with total strangers. You know, kinda like what you told your wife the first time you were going to meet your jdsleds friends that you met "online"..................

You know, Joe may look good with a handle-bar mustache, cowboy boots, hat, and longhorn steer horns on the front of his DuraMax.
Seriously, whatever you are up to Joe, good luck.

Hi Guys,

"Thanks" for the "well wishes". Yes, Cari posted on facebook about me relocating to Fort Worth TX for work. I am now working for an aerospace company down here. I flew down this week, but only renting a car and a hotel room until I find an appartment this week. I will be flying back to NY Friday for the weekend. I bought a little GMC 1500 pick up to drive back to TX with my stuff. I might bring my Polaris ATV down here, as they have places to ride down here. My trusty old John Deere 2 place trailer might end up in TX.

Don't worry, I will still be doing whatever the heck it is that I do on this page, and continue to moderate VS also. I am still planning to ride the vintage challenge and the vintage class of the I-500. Yes, my new boss thinks I am nuts and should take up jet ski's instead...hmm...maybe he has a point.

Don, it was 101 in June when I came down here for my on site visit. Funny, but the heat doesn't really bother me nearly as bad as the cold does. But I love playing in the snow.

Later Liquidator,

Linder, you pop tart...I bought my cowboy hat for the Watersboy's wedding back around 98 or so. Just had to dust if off for my own. But my cowboy boots sure fit in around here!

Careful Joe, don't think "all Hat and no cattle" is a compliment in that part of the country, no matter how big the hat is.
Good luck on the new job. Hope the Princeton show is still in the plans.

Hey there Joey me boy, were you ever in a band back in the day? It's been nagging at me who you reminded of and it just came to me. That band from New York with the guy wearin a cowboy hat just like yours. I believe they were called the "Village People", never really thought any of em were into vintage sleds but a guy just never knows. I'd probably wait a while to share that info with your new buds in the lone star state. Happy trails.
