I do it for Don

Postby 400brian » Mon Jul 26, 2010 2:40 am

Here's a shot of the rear axle of my '78 LF. Haven't had a lot of time to mess with the sleds, but I've got the rear idler wheels rebuilt, and the axle polished. It really won't be visible once its all assembled, but Don likes to see the shiny stuff...so here you go Don!

OMG, that is beautiful!! Great Work Brian. Shall I send you mine? Here's what I'm thinking I'm going to chrome on the CC. Belt Guard / Rear Bumper / Chaincase and Cover / Radiator Bracket / Seems like something else but I'm too tired to walk to the shop right now. Contemplating chroming the front bumper, thoughts?

Hey Don,
You're thinking way to small, it's time to think big. Think back to 1997, Darrell Waltrip, Coke 600, and the chrome car. Don't paint the chassis, and hood........... chrome it! The only problem is, no one could ride with you, the reflection would be way to bright, but it would be way cool.

Terre,
I have that car in 64th scale. I think DW's helmet was chrome too. Just think Don, a chrome helmet.

If a stupid farmer can do it Don, I'm confident you can as well. I'm willing to bet Rainville could do it if he put his mind to it!

In looking at your "to chrome" list, I'm thinking if you really want to make a statement, you've got to chrome the skis.
A chrome bumper would no doubt be impressive.

Did some one say chrome helmet? Sorry, it's not 100% chrome, but probably 85%. This is the helmet I bought for my boy last winter, pretty cool looking.
