The 47th annual Steam and Gas Show is coming up in August. This show is almost as old as I am.
Here's their website: http://www.badgersteamandgas.com/index.html
A semi-retired Uncle is a mostly Deere tractor collector, and an active member of the club. The 2011 show will feature Deere as the spotlighted make ( that's correct, a year from now ). The Uncle has been on me to bring sleds to this Deere featured show for two years already. He was asking me about it today, wondering how many sleds I could arrange to attend. So I told him that the first thing I had to have was cover, preferably I wanted the sled display to be in the exhibition building. He said I would probably have to be satisfied with a tent, because the building looked like it was going to be full of memorabilia and small items that had to be inside.
So OK, I guess I can live with that. If I could get my '72 together, I could personally put together a small display of the Kioritz powered sleds. "72 400, '74 JDX8, 340/S, Cyclone, '78 Liquifire. A 295/S and a Dator would be nice, and a sample of the Kawasaki powered sleds would be good as well.
This show is held just north of Baraboo, WI, on property owned by the club. It is the largest show of its type in the state. They'll be plowing, threshing, and sawing lumber. Steam tractors, Kerosene, distillate, and gas tractors, on up to diesels. Antique everything; tools, machinery, cars, trucks, tons of tractors. 5 acres of swap/flea market.
Just a heads up if anyone is interested. For me its pretty much going to be a command performance.
