Installation of Hydraulic Brakes

Postby Liquify » Wed Jul 28, 2010 11:10 am

Need some suggestions for updating a 1980 Liquifire chain case with hydraulic brakes. We are building a modified Liquifire for vintage oval racing and would like to convert the production mechanical brake caliper over to a hydraulic system. I know John Deere built a replacement hydraulic unit at one time but I cannot find any information on that part (the parts lists I have mention the heavy duty brake disc but not the caliper). Are any of the John Deere hydraulic units still available? Will another type caliper bolt onto the case with minimal modification? Thanks for your help.
