Re: 1980 Liquifire water pump
Not close. The rubber that comes with the ceramic seals on the OD. As long as you don't make the ID of the ceramic so big that the carbon part of the seal hangs over you should be good. I would think this could also be accomplished freehanding something like a die grinder, dreamed, drill, ect.

Re: 1980 Liquifire water pump
The impeller is cast on the shaft and can't be removed. I have had the same issue with the ID of the ceramic being too small. I chucked it in my lathe and used a cheap Harbor Freight diamond drill as a boring bar to remove material till it fit.

Re: Biltwell spectrum helmet
I'll have to dig up some photos. Several years ago I had a local company wrap a modern modular helmet with the flaming deer antler design.

Re: Kevin's Liquifire
Thanks for the compliment Jason. As far as what I used to clean the tank. I honestly don't exactly remember. Pretty sure I pressure washed it, probably wiped it down with simple green, and maybe something like alcohol (not positive on that one). Once it was clean and dry, I used kiwi heel and edge b...

Re: Can’t budge 79 liquified clutch
Worst one I dealt with, I let it set with tension on the puller for about a week with penatrating oil. Every day I would try to tighten it a little more. Also heated with a heat gun several times during this week. Finally one day while heating it gave up the fight in a pretty dramatic way.

Not sure what to say on this one. You are correct thinking these sleds shipped with mono leaf springs. Generally speaking most of them start to sag as time passes. I typically re-arch my springs when doing a resto. I've only ever been around sleds with mono springs so can't comment if one would be b...

Luke. I'm curious what you mean by "lead" (NOS, used, repop) as I have been casually looking for one of kawasaki free air coil / cdi units.

Re: Kevin's Liquifire
Well......more progress was made. I believe the TR800 is finished. As normal, it was not without drama (my 23 year old Chinese vise didn't survive). In past years when I have rebuilt 102s I would take them appart at home do as much as I could at home and then take them to work to torque the spider. ...
