Re: Walbro WDB-31

Actually, for the carb you list, which I assume is for a JD 300, it definitely is the correct high speed needle. The parts manual shows AM 53093, which is the number on the eBay listing I attached.

Re: 1975 JD300

James, Yes, you can replace crank seals without splitting the cases. Several techniques have been used with things like drilling in a couple of screws and using a pulling device to yank the seal out... or start a cut into the seal and use a prying device or large screwdriver for leverage to pull the...

Re: Walbro WDB-31

I don't know much about that particular model carb, but many used the same needles... Would this be the correct one, or does it require a special needle? https://www.ebay.com/itm/125678311984?itmmeta=01HQNC67AAQB9F8FKQZFPHNHZ3&hash=item1d4302da30:g:ZLUAAOSw8QljpfWW&itmprp=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0MlRs...

Re: 2024 Ride with the Champs recap.

Great writeup Brian, as always. Just a couple of pics I had from the week / weekend: The 96' Cat has been diagnosed, and repairs are underway, I got a shot of Nick's X-country Liquifire, and my ice fishing setup.... I was actually surprised to see 10-1/2 inches of good clear ice on Big St. Lake. No ...

Re: 1975 JD300

Fantastic time capsule! I agree, you could show that as an original especially with all your extras in the display and do pretty well at vintage shows. IF you plan to get it running, the very first thing any of the guys on this site will tell you is replace the crank seals. Those will always be the ...

Steve,

Just a curious question: where did you source the footboard grip tape? That's pretty cool and very functional. You must have put the yellow stripe in yourself? Yellow piping for the bumper and tunnel perhaps?

Re: Kevin's Liquifire

Looks awesome Nick! On the previous page, you had the fuel tank and door installed on top of the tunnel... wondering what you used to clean/ polish that material to make it look so good. I think it's been mentioned by Deere guys before, I am just the fool who doesn't write that stuff down the first ...

Re: Electric Starter needed for 1978 440 liquifire

Jeff,

This one is listed by OEG Parts in eBay... It says it fits the mid-90's Arctic Cats, but it's the same style and type Bosch starter that were used in many of the Deere sleds from the 70's.

Re: Cyclone mikuni carb

To my knowledge, all VM34's are similar... there's just small changes depending on model that manufacturer's put on their sleds. Some had a straight brass plug in the bowl, while others had the moisture collection tube on the bottom. Some had different ports to attach testers to... it just depends. ...

Sled preparation is happening, but hard to verify everything with little to no shake-down miles. Very slow start to snow season, but hoping Jan and Feb will bring changes. Looking forward to riding again.

Re: Salvaging the Walbro carbs

I've experienced most of what you and Brian have been discussing on both my 800 and JDX8... I've currently found that if I have the metering arm slightly above the body, it gets all the fuel it needs on both idle and between 1/2 - WOT. The slight bog here and there, I've been able to adjust away by ...

Re: 2023 Ride with the Champs!

Oh, one more funny item while we were at lunch on Gull Lake. A group of guys from Iowa were at the bar getting food. They were up there doing some ice fishing for a few days and watched us pull in. You’d have thought we landed from Mars, because they’d never seen vintage JD sleds before, and it took...
