Re: 1978 liquifire 340

Like Dan said there's no way to say how many are still around. I don't feel like the 340 version gets "saved" as much as the 440 unless of course it's a Cross Country version.

Try doing a search, I believe this has been discussed before between Peter (That Girl Racing) and Joe Rainville.

Re: John Deere 600

Welcome Cooper,
None of the serial numbers start with 0, the first year of sleds stared with 11,000, so they may have mis-read the first digit. The engines are slightly different models, and there were only minor updates between them.

Here is his post copied from Facebook: With just over 2 1/2 months left in 2023 I’d like to announce bringing back an old tradition…John Deere snowmobile calendars! 🗓️ The email addre...

Folks, I have not heard from Gary in a while but I would guess the chance of this going through is slim to none with the state of manufacturing and cost since COVID. If it did go through, I bet it's double the price originally suggested.

Re: Only one spark per revolution

TB340a is the free air engine used in the JD Spitfire & Snowfire and also the Kawasaki Drifter F/A. With the CDI/coil combo I believe it may be the Deere version. Deere's last model year was 1984, and I know no other snowmobiles used that engine after that as it was the last free air snowmobile ...

Re: 1983 Trailfire 440 oil pump drive key

No one on this site recommends removing oil injection. I think the steel stock would twist right apart from vibration, that's why they used the spring key. I have one for you. Be sure to test your oil pump first - feed some oil to it, and run it with a drill. You should get basically a drip of oil f...

Oh boy. You might actually get better performance if you can figure out how to fit a stock muffler on there. Highly doubt there is any tuning on that one

Re: 76-78 liquifire vs 80and up

The internet says the 7500 was 65hp out of a 340cc. L/C with exhaust valves. Yea, that's gonna be a tough one with anything other then a 1980 Liq.
