75 340/S for sale Eau Claire, WI Craigslist $350 LOL

I was going through the Eau Claire, WI craiglist tonight and I see a 75 340/S for sale for $350 an hour from me. It was a 75 JDX 340 instead. Talk about being excited and then a big let down. Not that it looked like a bad JDX or anything. I sure am glad he had a picture because I'd be taking off right now. I did e-mail them the bad news and to please change the title of their ad. LOL

I drove a hundred mile one way yesterday to seal the deal on two sleds. One was a 78 440 liquifire the other was a 78 spitfire. The guy said they were in good shape. WELL, you know how the story goes, they were both a piece of JUNK. Tracks shot,hoods all cracked, seats bad, windshields cracked, you can imagine what they looked like. Did compression check, spitfire was ok but liquifire was bad. Needless to say I told they guy they were both junk and left them sitting. You can't always believe what the add says, and some people don't know the difference between junk and good shape. So I had a four hour drive round trip which got me nothing. jimmy

Was that the 440 Liquifire that me and duane were looking to use as a parts sled, that you offered the guy $200.00 ???????????

I got lucky on my 78 Liquifire,it was 400 miles frome me but only a 20 minute drive for my brother. He took pictures and sent them to me,verifide it ran. I sent the money down state with a buddy who was at my place snowmobiling that weekend and he picked it up(he had a buddy that lived within 2 blocks of it!) and dropped it off at my brothers place where it stayed for 2 months till now.

I friend of mine called me this morning to tell me there was a 340/S for sale on Eau Claire Craigs List for $350.00. My first thought was that Duane probably beat me to it. When He told me that it was black I started to have doubts as to what it really was. Once I saw the add I had a good laugh my self. I dont know how anyone can label a JDX4 as a 340/S when it clearly has the badge intact on the engine cover. That being said, it appears to be a decent JDX4.

I think that was a 340 Chuck but it's still on craigslist. I know Jerry. How do you mix them up?

I called on the 78 340 Liquifire and indeed Jimmy did pick it up. I asked them if they'd please remove it from craigslist.

Duane, I was going to call the seller and tell them that the 340/s was worth at least a grand or two more than they are asking for it, LOL! Just kidding, but I wonder if anyone called the owner and told them the JDX-4 is worth at least double of the asking price, or does that only happen with race sleds and 84's?

I just don't get some people...including myself at times...

PS: You going to Princeton, Haydays or the HOF shows?

For sure Princeton, Maybe Hay Days. We're going to the St. Germain show Memorial weekend and I'm planning on going to the HOF next year. The guy with the JDX 4 said someone was on their way to pick it up and I told them it was worth at least double that.
