1974 john deere 500 mikuni carb conversion

switching to a mikuni slide carb. Looking for all the jetting to make this work. Ive got the fuel pump, carb flange, vm34 carb, throttle block and cables just looking for all the jettngs. Engines a 440 CCW single carb, ported engine. Thanks in advance

Main between 200 and 300, pilot 25 to 35. Whatever works.

Thanks for the reply. Needle jetting and slide isn't as Important? I've got some out of some sleds from the 90s figured I'd have to change em

That is really hard to know, because Deere never did that R&D on these engines. If you look up the specs on a 440 Cyclone, you will find they were jetted HUGE, although the needle and needle jet might be relevant. I played with a Mikuni on a 340/5 piston port for a while 15 years ago, but eventually put a Walbro back on it so I could run the stock air box. I have no idea what the Mikuni I had was off of, as it was on the sled when I got it.

Yeah I found the 76 service manual for the cyclones and found the jetting the be rather large, but they were reed valve engines. I'm sure I'm not the 1st person in the world to have done one of these conversions to give me a starting point. I've got a handful of jets around to play with. I'll just start fat and work my way down
