440 liquifire won’t start.
Hi there! I’m sure it’s been talked about but I can’t seem to find anything online. Back in July I restored two John Deere snowmobiles for one of our grain buyers. I am located in southeastern wyoming and the buyer is from Washington. Got the two sleds done, they ran perfect at home. One pull and they would start, lots of power, etc. got them up to Washington and I could not get them to start. Finally got the trailfire to which ran worse at home than the liquifire and never did get the liquifire to go. There was about 2500 feet in elevation change. We are 5300 feet and he is around 2500. I’m sure this has something to do with it but I don’t know. Jets maybe? Fuel needle? I tried adjusting the mixture. If it is the jets what do I put in those carbs and where do I get them? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you Google "Mikuni Altitude jetting" you will get charts to give some guidance.
Mikuni jets can be purchased at motorcycle shops, or any number of catalog retailers.

He be lean at 2500 unless sleds still jetted for sea level. Were the plugs wet?
