Re: Replacement Piston for the 295/S

Jerry, I suppose that would work?? Just make sure by doing this that the cyl. sleeve doesn't hit the crank or bottom out on the inside of the case..
My question I guess would be is .0075 going to be enough to keep the bottom ring from showing in the intake port??
I would also CK to make sure that you have plenty of clearance between the piston skirt & the crank, so @ high RPM the bottom of the skirt doesn't tap the crank.. I'm not sure if there would be any piston stretch or not at High RPM??

Good luck & keep us informed as I guess you'll be the test engineer on this project..

hello all , so I have a set of pistons and a set of bearings in hand to try one of these yami piston set-ups . I'm calling out again to see if anyone has a pair of jugs that could be used for this project ive got a bottom end and a set of heads .these jugs could be damaged or have broken fins or whatever .I hate to bore a good set of jugs and have them be ruined if this set-up wont work for some reason . worse case I would have interest in a good set of stds to get this project off the ground thanks again , wade

By the looks of things the pistons are available through my supplier up here, and so are the bearings. I will call them and make sure, but if not I may be interested.

My other question is, could a guy just take the .004 difference in bore diameter out with a hone or should the be sent in and bored?
