ski spreaders

My 72 400 had home made spreaders- 2 flat plates about 4 inches wide bolted on top of the ski. It made it very stable but very hard to steer. I ended up taking them out this year. Just something to think about.

Big Sandy Ride

I was there with the 78 Cyclone and the 72 400. That was a heck of a nice Dator and Liquifire. It was a great ride. My 400 ran great but wasn't starting well. I had to pull a plug and shoot some ether in there every time to start it. The Cyclone ran good once I pulled the carb apart in the middle of...

I'm starting on the restoration or my 74 300 and was wondering the best way to clean up aluminum parts on the motor. I'm completly disassembling the engine and rebuilding. Thanks,

Picked up a new one

I picked up a pair of 74 300's today. Got both of them for $100. One's in good shape overall and needs a track, the other one is junk but has a great track. Neither have seats. I'll get some picks up when I take them.

72 400 bearings

Thanks,
I've never heard of locktighting a bearing on, but I guess it makes sense. I appreciate the help.

72 400 bearings

Hi Guys~ The bearing on the jackshaft of my 400 went out. I pulled it apart today to replace. It's the bearing between the secondary and the brake assembly that went out but I'm going to replace both bearings on the shaft. My question is- What locks the bearings to the shaft? They are held in place ...

Sunfire

I was at the big sandy vintage ride in McGregor this weekend and saw a JD Sunfire. What is this? Is it a real sled or someones conversion? It looked alot like a liquifire chassis, but had a yellow seat and hood.

vintage ride at eagles point, big sandy lake, mn

I was out on the lake last weekend. Good ice but lots of ice heaves. There are some open patches right by the heave but the rest of the ice is better than 7 inches. I'll definately be there. I just picked up a 72 400 for my wife to ride. If you guys spot her and a cyclone followed by a Panther, give...

Finalizing the Cyclone

I'm just waiting for my cylinders to finish up the cyclone, just a few questions....

Torque specs for heads, stock carb settings and type of chaincase lube.

Thanks!
