JD 300 Wiring
I guess that was my question..... where do the jumper wires go? I have a ground from the engine case to the chassis and from the chassis to the battery. With a charged battery and the cables connected, everything works great. Unhook the battery or if it is completely discharged, the lights blow. If ...

JD 300 Wiring
I am having a wiring issue with my '74 300. I think the sled originally had electric start because I have the battery box and the whole solenoid setup for the starter. When I run a battery in the sled, everything is fine with the lights. But the other day the battery went dead from sitting and when ...

JD300 Recoil
Hey fellas, Had the 300 out on the lake this past weekend and my buddy pulled the rope out of the recoil and it did not rewind. I took it apart at home and the little spring (M47219) under the cam is broke in two. The recoil never did have a lot of snap back to it. Is this spring still available and...

Walbro WDA-1
I was at an ice fishing tournament yesterday and ran the sled pretty hard all day. And I am glad to say it started all day really without a problem. I even pulled two big guys in otter sleds and one guy on the seat with me as we moved from one end of the lake to the other. Pretty big load for a 300 ...

Little update. It turns out the little primer spicket on top of the carb WAS open. Plugged it up with a little silicone and it made quite a bit of difference. Seems to be starting even when warm! I still have what seems to be unburnt fuel around the exhaust ports where the muffler attaches. ...

It is clean around the motor. I responded to the add for the WDB-31 but did not get a response. I will keep looking.

I have not changed the crank seals and do not know if they ever were. If the crank seals were bad, would it run as good as it does. I have had this same problem with the sled since I have owned it (7 years). Last year I put on at least fifty miles and the sled runs great and idles well. The plugs ar...

I am sorry. Not in the top of the carb but in the hole in the spacer block for the air box. WDA-1 is stamped in the flange but other pictures I have seen of the WDA-1 show it being a smaller carb. Could I have someting different?

Thanks Brian. It makes sense that I would need those parts. The sled wil not start after it gets cold. I carry a can of carb cleaner with the red straw attached and give it one squirt through the hole in the top of the carb when it sits and it starts right up. I replaced all the fuel lines including...

Anyone home?
Is the WDA-1 even the right carb for this sled. The WDA-1 is stamped on top of the flange where it bolts to the motor.

Hey guys, I pulled the '74 300 back out of storage and got it running again for this year. Last year I was having trouble starting it after it was warm and figured it was the fuel pump on the WDA-1. I purchased a nice rebuild kit online and started disassembling the carb and putting the kit in. My q...

JD 300 hard starting
While choking it, I am not getting gas in the carb. What exactly does the impulse line do? I replaced all the fuel lines except for that impulse line. It is still the plastic line and possibly cracked or came loose while riding. Otherwise, the sled runs great. Thanks, Eric

JD 300 hard starting
Hey guys, I took the '74 JD 300 out this last weekend on a fisheree and put about 20 miles on. A lot of starting and stopping. As the weekend went on, the old girl was harder and harder to start. After sitting for a while and cooling down, it was real work to get it to fire even after choking. It se...
