Thank you everyone for all of your help. We took the used CDI back but they did not have another one. Does anyone have one for sale that they know is good? It is the two plug type with round plugs

I have checked both wires to the trigger coil and both are right at 30 Ohms. Anything else to check before I condemn the used CDI box we got?

I have found it. It says 30 or 197 ohms each measured against the common (green I assume). Where exactly on the motor is this ring located? Behind the stator?

Checked things over this afternoon. Low speed coil tested good at 2.65 and the high speed was at 77. Everything appears to be ok with the stator. Hooked up used CDI box and absolutely nothing. Thank you everyone. That is what I suspected but was not sure. Will be off to testing here this afternoon to see if we can bring spark back into its life! I am guessing that key switch wire is needed in the grand scheme of things.

I have checked that out. From what he is saying, there is one more wire than what it showns on the diagram. Does that make sense?
