Wanted carb for a 1980 440 Trailfire

Wanted carb for a 1980 440 trailfire the sled is very nice but the mice made the air box into a hotel and the carb into a porta potty . Also could use a nice set of chrome bars if they are out there.

Re: Polished Tunnel Protection

I do not consider myself an expert on aluminum because it is a whole differant animal, but I have been painting cars for a living for twenty years and in my opinion clearcoating would be a short term fix . It would look great for a little while but it can be very prone to peeling and especially sens...

Need sled hauled from MN to NH

Guys, Trying to help out a fellow vintage rider I sold him a sled and the guy who was going to haul it is backing out. Will anyone be making the trip from Minnesota to New Hampshire or at least to the north east in the future? He is not in a super hurry and is willing to pay a fair rate let me know....

Re: A pair of liquifires!

Thanks guys, All your feedback is helpful and alot of it made sense. It is very easy to get over excited about a deal like this because you just dont see them as often as you use to. I hope to go see them soon and get some pictures and maybe more info. We will just have to wait and see and hope for ...

Re: A pair of liquifires!

Iam just north of the Twin Cities and would probably figure them to be worth 2000.00 to 3000.00 with theJD trailer and all the extras depending on the condition. To some that may seem like too much and not enough to others but its a place to start.I know its cool but do the back to back serial #s ad...

Re: A pair of liquifires!

Guys I realize how difficult this is without seeing any pictures I have not seen the sleds yet myself but I know the guy who has them, and I take him at his word . So lets just say they are in better than average condition and if they are not I will deal with it when I do finally see them. Right now...

A pair of liquifires!

Guys this may be something that has been stressed over before but please humor me. I have a freind that years ago aquired 2 liquifires that have sequential serial #s a trailer , suits, helmets, boots and a bunch of misc. stuff. I have not seen them yet but he says they have very low miles and are 198...

Re: removing handgrips

The suggested way in the link is good but if you dont have access to a compressor where the sled is at , boiling or very hot water makes them very plyable and with a few twists they will usually come off easily.

Steele tunnel trailfire

Hey guys, Today while on a parts search I came across a steele tunnel trailefire. I now that this is not all that rare but it is the first one that I have ever seen. It is a 79 440 with a build date of 10/78 it is not by any means nice but it appears to be complete. I have a 79 440 trailfire with a ...

Re: Ugly 80,s Liquifires

Chuck, I will be honest with you I am glad that you are gaining some interest in the late model liquifires, that at least gives me a chance at the next liquidator to go for sale at auction! But for now I will just keep plugging away at the 295/s. I dont think you will regret that purchase one bit, i...

Re: Red Lake I 500 sleds other than late Liquifires?

Thanks Joe all of the things you mentioned make total sense and are all things I considered but it is reassuring to here some one else say it. It does seem like the later liquifires make the most sense but I would really like to try a 1978 LF we will see what shakes out in the end. Has anyone herd a...

Red Lake I 500 sleds other than late Liquifires?

Hey Guys, I have been looking at alot of the posts for the I-500 sleds they all look really great and Iam very excited to watch them in action. My question is are there going to be anyother types of deere sleds and would a early liquifire or trailfire be able to compete? Because of the busy summer I...
