He went through it for me.
New crank seals. Checked spark plug wires. New plugs of course. New ends on plug wires. That's mainly it on the engine. A few other things were serviced on the sled but not engine work.

Re: 1975 John deere 600
In my opnion there is nothing wrong with the Bendix design or performance. Only issue is there are no parts available. I have had a couple apart, cleaned and reassembled to find them working great. A couple of others that had so much internal corrosion and damage that they went in the trash. And I ...

1975 John deere 600
Ok, I finally got this posted in the right place, not under the calendar tab. Hey- got a question. I bought a really nice shape JD 600 last season. Had new crank seals put in it, and rebuilt the original bendix carb. I rode it a couple times last season (not much snow in Indiana last year). I was re...

Re: 1975 600
Pretty sure its not plugged exhaust. I can understand the concern about the seals, but why would it idle and run so good and then now won't, I will have anther look at the carb and the lean adjusting. I will see how that goes.
Thanks

Re: 1975 600
Yes it does rev smoothly, It just starts and acts totally fine, then dies a few seconds later. You can start, hit the throttle a couple of times and it sounds peppy, then almost as if somebody pinched the fuel line off, just dies. Then you can prime again, starts back up, same thing, then dies. My f...

Re: 1975 600
Ok. New plugs-primed once, starts first pull, idles 5-10 seconds then dies. Then I notice liquid dripping out bottom of exhaust under belly pan...? 3 primes, starts second pull, idles 15 seconds, dies, liquid dripping out of exhaust...? Is the carb totally out of adjustment causing way to much fuel ...

Re: 1975 600
On a 75 600, do you have to dissasemble the engine to do the seals? Or can you just pull the clutch off and get to them?
