Thanks!

80 LF problems
Been having nothing but problems with my 80 LF... Last year I tinkered with it a bunch and it would run but not very well. It is a hard SOB to start. It will fight and fight you. And it is kept in a 70 degree shop. Once it's start it has very little power. My TF would smoke it. Now you could put aro...

Re: 80 LF won't stay running
I don't run ethanol in mine, 93 octane non alcohol. I'll take them off and give them a good cleaning. I just don't think that's it because it did the exact same thing last year when I was tinkering with it. Ran the same etc

Re: 80 LF won't stay running
I have not cleaned the carbs since I had them off last. I can if you recommend it though, and yes the choke plungers are set correctly
Thank you for the stator specs! I do have fuel to the carbs. I know that for sure. I will get a DVOM home and check it out. Thank you harley!

Re: 80 LF won't stay running
Thanks dale, I've got a book on it and tried everything I can think of, it has a new fuel pump and new lines. I've gone over them a few times to be sure of no leaks etc, the boots are new. When it dies the plugs are damp, not wet like flooded but normal damp. It has a 1/4 tank of fuel in it but I ca...

80 LF won't stay running
Okay, I've got an 80 liquifire here that's been giving me fits for quite some time. I got discouraged and walked away from it for a year. We'll now I'm here ambitious again. Yesterday I went out for a cruse on dad's TF, throttle cable broke so I got it home and I looked over at the liquifire. It had...

Re: Another try... 80's LF Carbs
Eric, I tried tightening the secondary as you said. It would get to 6000-6500 rpm and maintain less than 30 mph. Engine wanted to die. Have to feather the throttle to keep any movement of the sled. From a standstill wot will kill it. It isnt running lean. How can i tell if it is rich? Take the airbo...

I did the jetting to the 81 tech manual. 40 pilots. 105 and 110 power jets. Can't remember the main jets off the top of my head though. Yes it has a new belt on it.

Re: Another try... 80's LF Carbs
Danzig, I have a trail fire with a sporty engine in it I haven't completed yet. It is on the back burner until my LF is done. I was just curious if the stator in the sporty could be used to try in the LF or where can I get a new one for my LF?
