Perhaps yours is one someone was making and selling on e-bay some years ago, maybe 10 years ago or so.

Re: 1978 Liquifire carb adjustments

If the lock nut at the carburetor has been overtighten it can brake the cable thread off leaving an inadequate amount to get the correct adjustment. That may have happened in your sleds past life? If you can get the correct adjustment on one carb, compare the thread lengths.

Re: 1979 Trailfire 440

Years ago, if I remember right, there was a post here showing ohm readings for the stator, not as good as the JD tester, but better than nothing.

Re: Fuel Gauge for 1983 Trailfire

Yes, I have purchased from them, fuel gauges, Mikuni ATV carb kits, etc. The gauge as purchased would be accurate for a cubical tank, not the varying shape of a fire series tank. I remember trying it stock and did not like the results. If I remember correctly it was off quite a bit at low tank were ...

Re: Fuel Gauge for 1983 Trailfire

Try "The Parts Connection" in Jackson, MI. 517-787-0477. He has carried Kelch fuel gauges in both the small and large thread diameters for both early and later fire series JD's. Unsure what he currently has in stock. The length should be approximately 11.5" as I recall. None of the ga...

Oil Injection check valves

INFO: there are now several NOS Polaris check valves listed on ebay, Polaris 3083894. 5 maybe 10 years ago someone on this site said they fit and work fine on JD's. I have no experience with that myself. I know a couple of guys here were looking for some a few months ago.
