WTB 1 Ski for 76 - 77 Cyclone / Liquifire
I am in need of one ski for a 76 - 77 Liquifire. As long as the price is reasonable, and the ski is not rusted through or bent, I'm interested. Thanks.

Re: Dator Rear Tank Capacity
I have no intention to produce them in the relative future. I just wanted for somebody with the means to do so to have a nice mark-up to make their job a bit easier. That, and preservation of design. If somebody could make them in the future, I'm sure it'd be pretty tough if they didn't have an exam...

Dator Rear Tank Capacity
Does anybody know the fuel capacity, and maybe a couple simple measurements of the dator rear tank? I am trying to draw one up in CAD with just a couple of pictures and I'm getting somewhere in the 3 gallon range, but I felt that might be a little small, but I've honestly just been using visual prop...

Re: Many good used parts for sale
Do you have any good Liqui/Cyclone brake and throttle blocks/grips? If so, what do you want for them?
Edit: Or just the blocks from a 78+, as the grips are on NBP

Re: Ski Replacement?
I would definitely buy the plastic skis if I had the budget now, but I can't justify spending more than I paid for the sled on skis. I know it's worth it, but I kinda just need something to get me by. Also as far as the cost and work, I have access to welding supplies and cutting tools.,So all it'd ...

Ski Replacement?
So the skis on my 77 Liqui are pretty stoved in  and they've had some amateur rust repair on them, so I was wondering if it would be feasible for me and a couple buddies to cut the spring perches and remake the rear spring pin holes from the old Deere skis and fab them onto a pair of mid 80s-90...

Re: 77 liquifire problems
I have just checked, and both plugs have great spark. The plugs are BR9ES, and from what I can understand, they run a little hotter than the B10ES' I see recommended. With any luck, I should be able to check out the carbs in the next couple of days.

Re: 77 liquifire problems
I apologize for resurrecting this dead thread, but I may have some extra clues as to why the sled might be acting up as it is. Before I get into that; however, I must say that late last year, I completely rebuilt the engine and fuel pump, probably more for piece-of-mind, as the previous owner said h...

Re: Best way to remove a stubborn head?
Hmm, I was using one of those mother's powerball looking LIGHT abrasive balls and I haven't seen any damage, but I suppose I could try some careful razoring.

Re: Best way to remove a stubborn head?
I've used two of the $10 Gasket removing balls from O-Reilly's with little avail, as the surface is better, but some of what I can only think is old, baked-on silicone is still hanging tough. Any thoughts?

Re: Best way to remove a stubborn head?
Read this previous post. http://www.jdsleds.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16171 Alright, I've got the clutch off, but now I have another little problem. I finally got around to *attempting* to remove the old gasket material from both sides of the cylinders, as well as the heads. So I ran d...

Re: Best way to remove a stubborn head?
Hey, thanks guys, I used a bit of both techniques and got the heads off. :beers; Now, all I have to worry about is how to get the flywheel off  I've tried an older harmonic balancer puller, but all I've accomplished is lightly messing up the end of the crankshaft. It's not THAT messed up, as ...

Best way to remove a stubborn head?
What's the general consensus as far as methods of removing stuck heads on the liquid-cooled CCW engines? I'm finally getting around to tearing down the 440/23 on my liquifire and I'm having a little trouble with the bottom-half of the head not separating from the crankcase, even with the "sligh...
