Mikuni carb overflowing
Hiya fellas. Well I got my 79 440 running. Now the problem I am having is that the overflow on the carb is dumping fuel left right and centre. The float bowl won't stop taking fuel and she spills out the overflow like a fountain. Is it the main jet? Needle jet? Air screw? I have no idea what to try ...

Thanks for the info. I will do that. I also found this eve that the gap on the plugs is over .025 but they do spark. I will drain the fuel as you stated. I didn't think of that one.

Good morning all.i recently picked up a 79 jd440. In pretty decent shape. After spending a day cleaning and degunking the engine compartment, I figured let's tear down the carb and rebuild, so did that. Carb has great fuel flow. hi there, i see the grat work you have done on your hood. can you give me some insight into how you clean up the hood, repair the cracks etc. do you sandpaper it all down, then use bondo?, or fiberglass?, then wet sand nd primer paint. etc. just picked up to old 440 trailfires and want to restore th...
