82 Liquifire Temp Gauge wanted

Looking for a temp gauge for my 82 LF. I would prefer an NOS one, but I will certainly entertain pretty much anything. New Breed doesn't have any of the range style in stock. If anyone has one they can spare I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Got these this morning

Lloyd;

I wonder if any of the people over at the Southhampton museum would know how to fix water damage?

As a reformed runner, a hearty congratulations. It is hard to truly understand what you have accomplished here, but rest assured, you are in a very exclusive club. Well done.

Well if it is the dryer, then obviously everything is okay. Right? But if it is the washer. Well ..........

Re: wanted:liquifire parts

If you are calling the dash logo a metal sticky label that has John Deere printed on it in silver, (attaches to the front of the dash with 2-sided tape) I may have one on my bench.

Re: Question for the Mikuni gods

Thanks for all the feedback. The needle is in the third position, the throttle cable is fully seated, however after talking to some of the local guys, I have erred on the side of caution and have adjusted the throttle cable all the way down so idle is fine, but WOT will be affected. I haven't had a ...

Question for the Mikuni gods

Are there different slide lengths for Mikuni carbs? The reason I ask is because I am working on an 80 Trailfire 440, and when I set the carb up so that the slide is flush to the top at WOT, and I release the throttle, the slide doesn't fall down far enough to come anywhere near the idle adjustment s...

Re: Trailfire help!!

Cooling fan draws air from the front, carb draws air from the rear. There is a small "spigot" (for want of a better word) on the back of the cooling fan shroud that "almost" looks like the carb air box intake hose should fit on, but it doesn't. The end of the "spigot" i...

Re: Today's sighting

Jimmy; That is too funny! Kind of reminds me of the time I fit a 4 x 4 x 1/4" sheet of plywood INSIDE a VW Fox! To say the looks on the faces of the people watching me was worth the price of admission is understating things. I rolled it into a tube to fit it in. Looked funnier that hell driving...

Carb question

Has anyone ever put a VM34 power jet carb on a 440 Trailfire? Did it work, what did you use for jetting (I am thinking of just using whatever jetting is called for for an 80 Sportfire), was it worth it? Reason I am asking is I just came across a Kawasaki at the local "pick-and-pull" today ...
