Looks like a great parts sled , I see a rare one up seat, unmolested hood, handlebars and accessories, worth every cent in parts
I have a 80 LQ for sale that would benefit from the seat alone.

80 Liquifire Oil Injection Question
Thanks Gents
I was looking for a technical explanation for my question.
My question is why the oil injection is so rich on startup after sitting for a period of time.
Like I stated, I only use very good quality two stroke oil and the piece is a complete restoration that runs very well.

80 Liquifire Oil Injection Question
Hi Gents! I have a question for the group. I have restored a 1980 Liquifire 440 complete. It runs like a champ and is a fun vintage ride. My question is this.. I recently started it in the shop to fog it for the summer and discovered that the oil injection was way to rich. The shop soon filled with ...

Mikuni Carb question
Hi Paul Looks like this unit is a Frankenstein. It is a 1980 model year, I am certain of that. VIN Number etc indicators. It may have suffered many modifications before I got it for restoration. Like I was saying, I found it in basket case state March 2007. It was destined for the boneyard, but fool...

Mikuni Carb question
Hi Paul OK this is starting to make some sense. Another exploded diagram I found lists the top spigot/line as being vented with 3 mtrs of fuel line not connected to anything. Made it look like a not terminated vent. Many thanks for the information. Will advise the outcome.... Best Regards Dave johnd...

Mikuni Carb question
Hi Paul Thanks again I have to go with you on this. I have not seen a factory 1980 Liquifire tank, fuel system. That is where my questions start. With the upper and lower spigot as described, looks like you make it a later model. Fair enough. I need some advice, Does this upper vent/line spigot need...

Mikuni Carb question
Hi Paul Thanks for the reply Looks like I need to clarify my request. The fuel tank on my 1980 Liquifire has a lower nipple for fuel feed and a upper nipple for what appears to be a return line. I am looking for a photo of how this upper nipple plumbs into the fuel line as a return. This unit is a 1...

Mikuni Carb question
Hello and many thanks to Paul and Rich. The vent line photos for the 80 Liquifire were very helpful. They were a confirmation of how I plumbed my restoration. I have one more question. Could either of you fellows post a photo of how the upper fuel tank spigot plumbs to the fuel line on it's way to t...

Aluminum engine parts cleaning
Hello
I read your post. Am in agreement with Simple Green and a scrub brush.
Here's another suggestion. I like a mixture of Tri Sodium Phosphate (TSP) car wash soap and water.
Soak the parts and scrub well with a nylon brush. Rinse well and polish with Autosol.

No power to lights and tach
Hi There I just read your post... This might help. Have a look at the yellow dc lead from the power plant to the harness. The schematic shows that it provides current/voltage to the headlights and tachometer. I had this same trouble with a 80 LQF and found that the spade connector had failed from cu...

Cleaning plastic gas tanks
Hello I found a gentle trick to clean fragile plastic parts. Mix a solution of liquid car wash soap and tri sodium phosphate powder (TSP) in water. TSP is a common cleaner available at your local hardware store. Leave the parts immersed in the solution for several days, then scrub with a nylon finge...
