Parting Out 77 Liquifire 440

Parting out a 77 Liquifire 440. Some good parts, and some bad. For the bad, windshield cracked, throttle and brake blocks cracked, handlebar pad junk, track doesn't look too good, snow flap ripped, mag piston shot penned along with the head, no ski's or rear grab bar, bumper smashed. Some of the goo...

Re: Question for restorations - clutches

Matt, My preferred methods would be. Primary Media blast aluminum components. Because I like the contrast of the black to the aluminum I like to paint the covers. Then I use the yellow cad hardware on the cover. Again a nice contrast to the black. It's not stock, but I like the look. Comet2.jpg Seco...

Parting Out 74 JDX8

Parting out a 74 X8. It looks better in the picture than it really is. The parts that are bad so far, both hand grips, handlebar pad, headlight dimmer switch, handlebars, secondary clutch, windshield, and exhaust. It looks like the plastics were painted at one time and some of the paint is wearing o...

Re: Parting Out 73 JD600

It actually isn't too bad, and if I had the time, I would consider restoring it, but I have too many other projects at the moment. What ever doesn't sell will be put into storage for future use, just in case I find another one down the road.

Re: New Project

Still lurking in the shadows, trying to stay up to date with what's been happening on the site. My project is still moving, just not as fast as I had hoped. The shear number of parts on a car compared to a sled is incredible, still we keep pressing on. Here is what I would call my first milestone. T...

Re: 1980 Liquifire Project

Can you tell me where you bought the blue fuel line. The stuff I have seen is pretty pale blue and when fuel mixture is in it it looses the blue look and appears more like yellow Sorry for the slow response, not having any sleds, I don't get on here as often anymore. The fuel line was purchased at ...

Spitfire - 3 wheeler

Here's one you guys can ride this summer. Looks well engineered and even has front disc brakes, so no problem bringing the 440 to a stop. Not mine, just giving the JD community the heads up on this beauty.

Re: New Project

You nailed it Greg, it's an 81. My favorite's are the C3 models with the 70-72, and 80-82 being my favorites. I had a real nice restored 69 Camaro Z/28 when I was younger, but when the kids came along it had to go. Now that they are grown up, it was time to find another car. Looking forward to hitti...

New Project

Hey everyone. Just thought I would share a couple of pics of my newest project. Having sold all of my sleds and most of my parts to finance the project I finally found a worthy candidate. I guess the driving force in going this direction was to buy something both my wife and I could enjoy, since she...

For Sale - Women's size snow suit

I have a very nice John Deere snow suit for sale. I believe these are a womens size medium, but don't know for sure as the size tags have disintegrated. Both are in very nice condition, I don't see anything wrong with either piece. No stains, no holes, no rips, colors are nice and bright. All zipper...
