Re: state reg. fee
Michigan's went up to $30 per sled this year . Trail permits also went up to $35 from last years $25 . I also heard next year the trail permit will increase to $45 per sled. Kind of expensive to ride if you do not get out to use the trail system to much . Heard of people talking about not even ridin...

Burned down a piston
Guys Thanks, the gaskets are new, I only ran the engine for about 15 minutes tops at idle. Have not takin it out for a spin yet. I did put them on without any dressing , just wondering if it would be better at this point to break it apart now and use a sealent . It runs good and I retorqued the head...

Hey Guys , I have a 1980 Liquifire , 123,087 serial number . Question is did these come with the purple clutch spring already on them from the factory ? Cannot tell mine has all the paint worn off. Been reading up on the purple spring and a post about a Polaris blue spring , any thoughts ? :beers;

Trailfir tunnel
Well finally got this swap done .It went pretty well, hardest part was busting the welds that joined the 79 tunnel/bulkhead. Now one more question , on the seat straps on these trailfires. Is the strap held onto the tunnel with a small carrage bolt that has a acorn nut on the outside ? OR Is there a...

Trailfir tunnel
Thanks ,
it looks pretty simple . I did notice the 79 has a lot less rivets on it . Were they spot welded together at points ? Could not see any spot weld dimples from the top .

Trailfir tunnel
I have a 1979 trailfire with the metal tunnel in rusted shape , belly pan is nice . Also have a 1980 trailfire junk/part sled . Aluminum tunnel is nice , belly pan is rusted bad . So I was thinking of swapping the aluminum tunnel onto the 1979 belly pan , seems streight forward . Would there be any ...

I had the same problem ,. I tried heating actually I hink this makes it worst . Its a aluminum shaft inside steel . Aluminum expands morethen the steel, which I think makes it tighter. Air hammer didnt work either , but it did work on the trailfire shaft. I ended up drilling the aluminum shaft out :...

Trailfire 440
:?: On the 440 Trailfire's was the optional tachometer the one that read up to up to 100, like the tach on the liquifire ? Or was it reading to 80 ? Done a search could not find anything. In otherwords will a Liquifire tach (100) work on the 79 Trailfire 440 ? or are the lower reading tachs ( 80 ) f...

Thanks for the info ,Invader440 wrote:Intruder cylinders won't work but you could use Drifter cylinders. Pistons are the same. Intuder is based on the T7 block so the mounting bolt pattern is different.
I did not know there was a diffreance in intruder / drifter engines.
