Does anyone know of a supplier for piston pin bearings for a Kohler K-340FA on a Spitfire
All the piston manufacturers still make Pistons, but there are no listings for needle bearings
Any Ideas
Thanks

I will be tearing down a good Kohler 340, with good compression and be willing to sell the cylinders, pistons, and crank as a package; all you will need is a gasket kit and rings to complete your rebuild. If that is the way you want to go, PM me on a price. The only reason I am tearing it down is be...

No, I can even see the machining process on the aluminum, they didnt come with studs either, They came in genuine Kohler boxes, not JD, maybe thats how JD purchased them and finished the process themselves.

Cylinder Lining on K340FA
I guess I dont understand why new packaged cylinders would have to go in for a coating. So these dont do me any good, considering the price of having that done. Any one want to buy these, they are scrap aluminum as far as I am concerned. Im just disappointed after buying NOS pistons, cylinders, and ...

Help- looking for an old topic
Last year there was a topic on 80's Liquifire factory pipes, where a guy had cut the pipe lenghtwise and posted pics on the modifications he had made to the baffle portion. I have searched and came up with nothing. Anyone?

I bought some NOS 78 Spitfire cylinders, and there is no sleeve or coating on the cylinder wall, just solid aluminum.
Are they supposed to have an iron liner, or nica-sil coating?
I cannot tell by the original ones, but I only pulled the cylinder head off to take a look.

Its my opinion that the 78's are better -Mikuni slide carb easier to work with and better performance -Kohler motor is bullet proof, I ride mine hard and cannot kill it. -Jd green is alot sharper color -bulkhead is stronger and I think it has a slightly wider ski stance, my 78 has offset spindles -s...

5500-6000 is where it starts and is strong all the way to 8700
If you want to do wheelies get a striped down trailfire 440
thats my funnest sled to drive, lots of torque and hooks up well with the cleated track on hardpack! and weighs alot less.

It does have 65 hp and will go fast , but I have yet to drive one with a working speedo, so top speed? It will carry the skis, but I dont know about a wheelie, from my experience they have no low end torque and dont hook up well enough with a 1/2 in lug track. But hang on when you hit that power ban...

Trailfire center crank seals
I did a little research today and found that the o-rings on the bearings are to help with the vibrations, and are not neeeded at all. they were not bad, they just split when separating the case, the bearings are in good shape, I have to no when to say when so Im going to reinstall the crank after a ...

That works for me, lets say I find o-rings, how would you even get them on the center seal and bearings.
