Stuck Cooling Fan
I have a CCW RV motor and the fan belt needs to be tightened. I took the nut off the shaft and the fan appears to be stuck on the shaft. Or am I missing something. I don't want to heat it and ruin the bearing, I also don't want to run it too hard with a loose belt. So far I have sprayed it with many...

Do any of you guys own the John Deere Ski Doo rev? I think it said "Bleedin Green" on the hood. I saw it twice on the trails friday near Bergland, MI. Just curious if it was anyone here. It was a cool looking ride.

Trailfire rebuild
I would bet its above 150. My ccw is 150 and doesn't pull that hard. Not sure what cracked the case. It cracked vertically about 1" in from the fan shroud. This was a friends sled and it has been a rattle trap since he got it. So I think bolts got loose and vibration caused it.

Trailfire rebuild
A first for me. I completely tore down a 79 or 80 440 kaw out of a trailfire yesterday. I have never gone further then the top end before. the case cracked so I replaced both seals, pistons, rings, piston bearings. My question is, after I got the motor back together it turned over smooth. I lubed up th...

I think the better question is why haven't you attempted to put it together yet? So you have to take it apart a couple times to get it right, who cares. We all have to. Get a manual and go to town. Even an intertek manual will get you rolling in the right direction. You will appreciate the sled a lo...

To add insult to injury, the original owner actually sold the sled on tuesday. You can't scam something like this in such a tight community of vintage sledders.

KEC 440/22
If the reeds are bad a set of Boysen reeds from an early 80's suzuki RM 80 will fit right in. Use 92 octane fuel. Don't ask how I learned that lesson. Check the plugs after running it, on mine the PTO side tends to run hotter than the mag side.

KEC 440/21 vs 22
Here is another "what if?" to throw out there. I don't know what is specail about the shape of the piston of a CCW RV engine. I know my 400/21 is 65mm with a 16mm pin. I found an Arctic cat piston that is 65mm with a 16mm pin. Would it be possible to use this as a replacement. Just curious...

KEC 440/21 vs 22
Thanks for the info. I want to keep the 400. My concern is the motor is already .020 over and if anything happens to it, I haven't been able to find another set of pistons for the /21 or 400 jugs.

KEC 440/21 vs 22
Hey guys. Been a while and digging back into this motor. I have a KEC 400/21 sitting around and I was wondering due to the lack of top end parts for this motor, could I put 440 cylinders on the same case? Since the stroke is the same could I put a 440/22 crank in those cases so I could have some pis...

ccw dual carb conversion
Another update on the dual carb set up. first it helps if the motor is nice and warm before you try to adjust the idle. I put in 30 pilot jets. It originally had 40's and I could not get it to hold an idle. it always wanted to die. Put in the 30's, warmed it up well and I increased the idle up to 28...
