Broken JD300 Track
What do I do? My track has a rip about 5 inches across the track from the side, then the rip takes a 90 and goes for another 4 inches or so. Are there new tracks still available? What are the chances I can repair it? If so, how do I repair it. Has anyone fit a 15x121x2.52 standard track on these joh...

Re: 1977 JD300 speed and rpms
Thats what I'm thinking as well, something must be wrong with the clutches, which is why i'm wondering what the peak rpm should be on this motor. I think the clutch are shifting to early keeping the rpms to low, would 7500 rpm make sense for this motor? I think it has a comet duster 94C primary clut...

1977 JD300 speed and rpms
According to my tach at full speed my Kolher K295 only revs at like 6000 rpm. Is that correct? Max speed is about 25MPH which seems slow for 28HP.

JD300 in action on Saturday
I'd say the sled is in good shape, but needs to be finished yet. Here's the list of issues: Needs both the dimmer and kill switch for the handle bars. Needs light replaced, voltage regulator installed, brake light replaced. Track is starting to rip on my, it also needs to be tensioned as it ratches....

I will be riding around the yard with my JD300 and Polaris XC500 this week. Snowing in Carman, MB right now, should get about 10cm more

anyone covert there WD to a Makuni
I have a mikuni vm-34 (don't know what sled it came from) running my 300. Works good. Every one in a while the PTO side spark plug fouls? and no longer sparks. I think it is from weak ignition, as the plug still works fine in any other sled.
It's kinda hard to hard at -15C, but it does go eventually

Hi all, it's been a while since I updated what's been going on with my JD300 sled. A while ago I was trying to put together a walbro carb for it, but gave up on that since I needed parts which seem unavailable. (Throttle and choke shafts to start with). Anyways I put a mikuni VM-34 carb on it, and t...

How well would a WDA-6 work on a 1977 Kolher 300?

fan bearings
Don't use a B.F.H. on your flywheel, that will hurt the bearings in the engine.
Instead a heavy duty puller should be used, you can tap lightly on the puller bolt.
DON'T whack it!

If I wanted to do this on a 77 Kolher K295 engine which one would be the closest, do you think?

I have the exact same 2 carbs, I'm going to try and get the wdb-31 carb going with parts from the wda-32.
I imagine there would jetting differences between the 2 since they are different motors. I think your 300 would run stupid rich with the WDA-32 carb

I found the WDB-31 carb!
However it's missing a low/high adjustment screw, the thottle shaft, choke shaft, and the plates for them too.
It's also missing the bracket that goes on top to hold the cables in place.
Going to be tough to locate those parts in our pile of stuff lol
