Thanks for the input, after looking at several things that could go wrong, thermostat and water pump, it was just a matter of letting it idle too long as Rich suggested, had it out in the neighborhood today and it kept a good temp of 160. This is my first sled I'll get this thing figured out sooner ...

Need help, I have a 79 Invader 440 that is overheating. Let it idle too long and it dumped fluid. Refilled, and it held the fluid but heated up again.
