ok can anyone tell me if the 1986 540 SRV had a rev-limiter on it. I cant get the RPMS high enough to enage the clutch. it gets to about 3000 RPMs and then just revs there.
Also is anyone able to send me a copy of the Wiring diagram?? Thanks for your help

it has 90 psi compression on one cylinder. so now I gotta find the leak it could be the piston rings right. When I first got the sled in my shop the owner said that the motor seized up but he was able to get it free- the fan was broke off so I had to replace the fan. I took the heads off and the specs were good and it moved freely.I honed the cylinders and put it back together but I didnt replace the rings. im thinking that they are stuck and are letting compression past them. could I be correct?

probably any time you do cylinder work you NEED TO REPLACE THE RINGS. There like $2 dont take shortcuts BOB
