A old Central catalog I have lists two "K" weights. K-1 (Comet part # 209011A1) = 59.7 grams. K-2 (Comet part # 213337A1) = 54.0 grams.

As far as I know all Comet weights have a identification letter stamped on them.

Also keep in mind that just because it has that letter stamped on it doesn't mean it's actually that exact weight. The weight may start life as a "K" weight but then Comet may have machined the flats or ground the ramps of the weight to alter it for another application. I got into this on a 340/S clutch with "P" weights. If you can find a Comet/Hoffco or CPC weight chart, it will show a picture profile of the weight and give the the weight in grams. That's the best way to verify for sure what you really have.

thanks troy, i was assuming that this was a kit that john deere sold because i found it listed on deere's website it gave a part # and then just the letter k which is all this weight has stamped on it,i read in a marshall catalog about the k1 and k2 weights for the 102c it did have pictures of the ramp's but the picture this looked like was k1 which is 59 grams and that i believe is way too much weight for a 78 440 cyclone ,i guess mabye i should try and get something to weigh them ......dave
