Wanted - Trailfire Right Spindle

Post by ecardinal »

I need the right side spindle for an 1982 Trailfire. Right side when sitting on the sled. Please let me know what you have.

Thanks,

Eric

Pretty sure I have one. I don't have a parts book but I would assume a 79 Trailfire as well as 80 Sportfires use the same spindle. If they work I have one.

They are different from side to side cause the right hand has the steering tie rod. The other difference is the splines.
Many new and used parts available, I ship anywhere. Thanks everyone.

Spindles are the same side to side. But you are right...the steering linkages are different.

The Liquifires used a finer spline than the Trailfires.

Accoirding to the parts book, <155,000 used a different one than >155,000.

I'm not positive, but the difference is probably the size of the splines, so that would be important to know. The later models had the coarse splines, I think. I know for sure the 83 Liquifire I had, had the coarse splines.

Hey guys, DA and Terre are correct the splines are different ! the early models used the fine splines and the later models used a course spline ! :usa:

What he needs according to the manual would be a course spline spindle ! I will check and see if i can help also ! :lol22:
