Matt,

I believe the other 340/S is Roger Jansen's (spelling). He ran the added visor extension on the top of the windshield. I'd have to watch the I-500 video again but he was either #52 or #53.

After some digging I found that Roger was #52. #53 would have been Mr. Enns.

Hello all........this picture was taken in the summer at the Deere administrative building from the bridge. At the end of the race Bob Carlson made it clear to the Horicon factory that these sleds should remain exactly as they finished and they were to be used for dealer shows around the country to launch the Cyclone and Liquifire lines. Rogers sled has got to be out there some place, my guess is around Horicon. Marketing and engineering wanted to take the reinforced suspension out before the dealer shows, Bob said no way are those sleds being changed. The sleds went from headquarters to the Lake Geneva Playboy club for the East Moline Branch introduction of new sleds to their dealers, they were reunited with their respective drivers for 3 days, and yes that's another story! Then on to the rest of the branch intros and back to Deere HQ, they also were in the lobby of the Horicon factory briefly. After that. 54 went into storage for years at Balsam Lake, the into storage in Stillwater Minnesota, over to Brookfield Wi, then back to the wall of my Balsam Lake cabin, then Chucks restoration, over to Waconia, then to the HOF. My guess is 52 never left Horicon after the lobby display.........the hunt should resume.

Stupid question...(I know I full of 'em), but why the rear grab handles on the racers?
Nice to show off as an option, I suppose, but with the many hours into these machines
it would take about 5 min. to remove & plug them.
Guess it's just the way I ride, but they would be in my way.
Apparetly not for the guys using them.
Guess I'm just jealous. I always wanted to do a Real x-country race.
Not just the local stuff.

Den, you need them to move the back of the sled around since there is no other rear bar/bumper.
