kohler intake gasket o-ring "?"

Post by Steven Rempel »

I have a kohler 295 2ax that I am rebiulding, I got a gasket kit from Newbreed (thanks much) but it did not come with the inner and outer o-ring gasket that goes between the two halfs. I would like to know what to use to replace the gasket between the inner and outer intake< do I just find a o-ring large enough at the local parts store or do I need some thing else.

I'm just curious, but did your intake have a small hole in the bottom of it? The reason I ask the Kohler intake on my Spitfire had a small machined hole in it.

Thanks,
Troy

I had a good look at all three kohler intakes that I have and none of them have any holes in them, I would think that the hole would have been for a primer inlet at some point, but that is only a guess sorry I could not help any more.

If there was a hole in the intake for primer I would have expected on top side of the intake, but really not the place your supposed to put the inlet. Make sure you cap that off if your not using it, that would be perfect for sucking in debris and cold air and causing damage
