I have 3 Mikuni carbs sitting here, how do I tell what they are? size wise, etc...
Any links that can help me? I also have a W.R series rebuild kit new in the bag. Are those for the Walbrg carb? It is Cat. No. 07-499
I also have a Walbrg that has wd-6 on it.
Since I can't find a rebuild kit for the Bendix I'm going to look into the other carbs I have.
Just trying to see what I have here, and what may work on what I have.

The kit you have, should work on any of the Walbro carbs that came on JD sleds.
To get an idea of what carbs were used where, you could look up carbs at JDPARTS.com.
It has probably been posted here, but being as you can't search for anything, I don't know how you would find it.
On the Mikunis, there are several models, ( VM, Powerjet )
And then different sizes of say the VM, 32mm, 34mm, 36mm, ect. ( bore dia )
If you go with the Walbro, you can run an airbox, but will have change the tank pickup fitting.
With a Mikuni you will have to change the choke and throttle cables to Mikuni type, can use the same tank fitting, but will probably not have room for an airbox.
BTW, what is wrong with your Bendix carbs?

I do look things up and try to research them the best I can. I was only trying to see if someone had a bookmark already for that info.

The Bendix Carbs have just been sitting for years with gas in them, I don't believe anything is wrong except they need a good cleaning.
I found kits for them, so thanks, I'll rebuild them when I get them. They really aren't that hard to find like you said. I can get 12 of them right now.
I'm just trying to learn. Sometimes you guys that know so much and have been around them for so long kind of forget when you where just learning. Just like looking them up, I'm new, not lazy.
I'll see what I can find by looking them up and doing more research.

Gary, I don't think that is what he ment. He meant that the search feature on the forums does not work, so you can't search for old topics.
On the mikunis, just measure the side that connects to the carb mount, which is the smaller side. The tricky thing about Mikunis is, you will be starting from scratch on the jetting. To tune it, you may have to start with baseline jetting for a '76 Cyclone 440, but that won't be right. You will have to try different jet sizes until you find a good setting, so you need a variety of jets. You'll have to run the machine at speed to check it, so you need a field to run it in.
You can tune Walbros on the fly, which is easier, but I don't know anything about the WD-6.
