Stuck Liquifire Flywheel

Post by Mr. Deere »

Well I have tried and tried and this thing wont budge! I pulled the threads out even! I tried re tapping them but Im afraid its a no go. I even tried the hammer and a prybar method. Anybody have any ideas? I thought I might get a 3 jar puller in the windows but unsure if they will fit. Thanks.

you pulled out the threads for the puller??
If that happened I would probibly put the sled or engine on its side so some good oil can sit there and works its way in. Then I would use some light heat. After that a 3 jaw puller might be your last resort. just go easy and dont bend any thing. Probibly best to put some tention on and then try too shock it by taping it with a hammer.

Bob, did you look to see IF it has a ring gear on it? & if so did you take the part that the recoil bolts to off the engine? you can't pull the flywheel on the ones with ring gears without pulling that # 9 Cover in the parts book first..
I can believe you pulled the threads I usually break the metric bolts I'm using on the puller first?? I think I can help you with a used flywheel when you need one.... what year is it..

Kenny I doesn't have the ring gear I don't believe. It doesn't even have the cut out. This is the motor you built. I have another flywheel so I should be good. I was trying to swap back to HSR to see if it would help it run any better. Now all I want to do is put it back together and ride the dam thing. I was thinking could I weld the bolts in the flywheel and pull it? Just a quick tac weld. I don't want to melt anything.
