What Liquifire Seconday Sheave do I have ?

Post by Herd »

I have a secondary drive of of my 83 Liqiufire that also has a 102c clutch on it. I am wondering if the secondary sheave was also switch to accomodate the narrrower belt. The part number on the secondary does not line up with the parts books. The part numbers off of it are AM54647, cam M68534, and AM53995.

Thanks

Parts book doesn't recognize any of those numbers. must be casting numbers.

Im not sure if there is a differnce in the secondary sheaves...?? I would just shim the secondary accordingly to get the right belt deflection/tension.

Im wondering if the differnt part number comes from the shims that were included in the clutch assembly.

I do know the limiter washer thickness was as follows:

M69652 ~ .190" ~ '83 Liquifire w/TR800
M69208 ~ .120" ~ '82 Liquifire w/TR800
M68665 ~ .260" ~ '80-'81 Liquifire w/102C

There is a note in the fine tune manual that basically says if you experience belt failures on an '82 Liquifire, due to the belt jumping off the drive sheave, to change the limiter spacer to M69652.

The fine tune manual also states that M68534 is a casting number for cams number AM55070 and AM55357
