The wife and I took a little ride up to Sturgeon Bay today to pick up a 77 340 Liquifire.
Didn't know what to expect was happy with what we found The sled had been sitting in a
pole building for a few years but was in nice shape. It was down the hill from his house and to deep for the
Pick up truck. Glad I brought along for the ride the 85 El Tigre with ice chisels. Pulled it out and across
the ice pond real easy.
When we got home I put some oil down the cylinder and rolled it over real smooth. Put a little mix down the plug holes and
pulled the rope twice and it started up, only to burn out the gas in the cylinders. Will need the gas lines replaced of course,
they just crumbled to nothing. Only 935 original miles. Is that a oem tool bag? I can't get it opened and don't want to destroy it to bad.
The seat needs to be re stapled onto the board so I tried to take it off and the blind nuts spun Popped it off with a
pry bar but the boards broke. How do you replace the boards on these since they are molded to the foam?

That's awesome. if the gas lines are bad, chances are the crank seals are bad. I'm working on my barn find sled right now too!

That speedometer came out of a fire series sled. My guess is that the 100mph speedo went bad and they repalced it with one that works but the wrong one for originality. Overall Very Nice Sled!!!

Likely the best thing to do with the seat would be to recover it with a new one.
Take a pattern from one of the wood strips if you can and make new ones.
There are covers available for these seats.
Nice straight sled to work with.

Well here it is back on the snow after fuel lines replaced and the tank flushed. Made new
boards and Gorilla glued them on, the vinyl has shrunk causing the foam to flex out. This caused the boards to
angle up so bad I can't get the bolts back in. The cover is in pretty good shape that is why I am trying to save it.
How do you guys save these foam/seats?
