HORICON 50TH CELEBRATION / SNOWMOBILES WELCOME!

Post by Horicon Joe »

Thought I would give you guys a heads up. July 26-28 is the 50 year anniversary of the first 110 lawn and garden tractor held at the Dodge County
Fairgrounds. I will try to attach a pdf with all the info. Friday and Saturday they are giving factory tours. Deere has not done this for the public in
Horicon for about 20 years now. Here is your chance to see inside where they built the snowmobiles. Free event to the public.

Cheers
Joe

Joe, what's happening with the Badger show? Isn't 2013 supposed to be "Wisconsin" built?

Don...... they want another display. They are trying to figure out how much room we will be allowed. They also want my dad to display Wisconsin made
boat and motors.

Don ....... just talked to Darren Redding. He told me where he is from and I asked if he knew you and sure enough he does. Darren is on the planning
committy along with his dad and my dad. Small world ........

The trick with early 110 lawn tractors is to get one of the first 100 made. There were many differences between these and later ones, the most notable being
that the first 100 or so had fiberglass fenders. Well those of course didn't work out so they were changed to steel. The early 110's also had hand fabricated mower
decks, not stamped like later.

I had a low serial number 110 that was basically like other early 110's and I had a fiberglass 110 as a restoration project. They both were sold with my other tractors in 2009.

Deere investigated offering a modern lawn tractor built to resemble the early 110 but never did. I've also seen later style 110's adapted into articulating four wheel drives and even
a crawler.

Neat tractor

this is a early one but does not have the fiberglass fenders on it. The machine is not in my possesion but i know where it sits in a garage. The owner wants a fair price but i haven't had anyone tell me a price even on weekend freedom riders site. Its all there the deck is solid just has the metal fenders.

The earliest fiberglass fender 110's, depending on condition, range from $800 to $3000 with restored units bringing far more than that.
A nice 1963? From what I used to see them sell for anyway from $500 to $1500 again dependent on condition.

If it's less than $500 jump now.
