Hi everyone,
Newbie here with probably one of the most common questions received from a newbie, "what's the value". Back in about 1976 or so, my dad got rid of the old 1970??? Ski-Doo with the pop-up headlight and bought a John Deere 600 with electric start for us kids. About the same time, he bought two JDX-8's from a neighbor who had bought them new. He wouldn't let us drive the JDX-8's because they were too 'hot'. We drove the crap out of that 600 and it was a good sled, except for when we got it stuck. Well, we've now had these sleds sitting around for years, collecting dust. It's probably been 15 years since the X-8's were run and longer for the 600. They have been stored inside, but will need the typical gas line replacement and I'm sure carb cleaning, and probably gas tank cleaning. When we last had the one JDX-8 running, we did all this, but I see the gas lines are broken again, but the gas tank didn't look too bad. The tank on the 600 would definitely need cleaning and it has a repair on the hood from when the neighbors old Polaris' throttle stuck when he started it and it smacked into the hood. I've got pics of one of the JDX-8's and the 600, but the other JDX-8 is in a different building that I can't access due to snow. That one my brother had for a few years while his son was small, and I know it needs cables, which I believe are there, but has a new track. I also believe the seat is ripped. The motors all turn over. Here's the info from the tag on the one JDX-8 and the 600.
Type: JDX 8C
Serial: 024004M
Date: Oct. 73
Type: 6000C
Serial: 022450M
Date: Oct. 73
The JDX-8 has 1671 miles and the 600 has 2893 miles. Not sure about the 2nd X-8, but I'm guessing around 2000 miles. I'm not sure if they are consecutive serial numbers, but they are the same year. I was thinking of asking $400 for the one JDX-8 and $200 each for the other one and the 600, or sell all three for $750, but after looking in the classified, that seems a little steep???? It seems you can buy a restored one for $600+. What does anyone think would be a fair price for these sleds. Here's some pictures of the two I could get to.

JD 600
Sorry this got to be such a long post. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Go ahead and tell me the truth, I'm a big boy and can take it. I belong to a number of firearm collector forums, so I'm used to criticism, but also enjoy compliments!!!! Thanks.

Re: Old John Deere Sleds Value
Looks like you have some decent sleds there, but without them being running, they are all major projects. Your asking prices aren't too far off, and if you are willing to take lower offers, you should be able to sell them.

Got some of them John Deere Tractors, too. Got a 1937 'D', A Styled 'G', and a '70 Diesel Row Crop'. Also a '57 Chevy and '65 Impala Convertible. No wonder I don't have time for vintage sleds!!!! Thanks for the replies and I welcome any other thoughts and comments.

Welcome to the site.
I think your asking price is a fair starting point for sleds in that condition.
If I were you I would keep them. They don't look like they would need much to get them going. Fire them up and enjoy.
