Parting out 2 Spitfires

Post by 427cobra »

Picked up these two sleds yesterday...

The chassis's are in rough shape...so decided to part them out.

Both are complete and running. They have the Kohler engines

I know the tracks are desirable...only one is in OK shape. Some cracking...but usable.

Let me know what you need! Then I will check on part condition and give you a price. :beers;

Sleds are gone....

I guess guys are using the spitfire ignitions on mercs now... I think he said they work on the trail twister..??

Aren't merc parts usually twice as much as JD parts?

If i remember correctly, the trail twister had a Kohler engine in it as well. Same 440 model used in the Skiroule RTX, right Rob?

The Skiroules did have the same engine as the trail twister but w/ a single WF carb,instead of the twin mik's.. The ignitions from the kohler spitfire engines fit the FREE AIR Snow twister engines from 74,75. The 76 Twisters had the liquid engines. :usa:

If thats the case, he needs to build it like a VMAX 4 with the auxillary primary clutch shaft, or whatever you'd like call it. Lord knows the PTO end of a Kohler Spitty crank won't take 70 horse :roll:
