600 - first startup
So I'm still SLOWLY working on this 600 I started restoring like 10 years ago. I tend to do a few things on it, then put it aside for a few months to a year at a time before I get back to it again. So late last year/early this year I finally finished assembling the engine, carb, and rebuilding the clutch with the help of Harleysportster. It's finally in the sled with controls hooked up, so after all this time, I can finally see if it will start.
Nothing special here, but I thought I'd try a video on my new phone:

Good show Matt, Now I know who to send those Wheelbarrow carbs to, when people ask me who can repair them, LOL It's always good to hear a sled run in thew middle of summer, kind of gets your winter blood flowing again..

I enjoyed it! We really need Smell-O-Vision for the full effect though.

Great video Matt. I'd have never guessed it was taken with a phone.

Sounds great matt! Those points engines can be a bear to time, but it sounds dead on in the video! Glad to see its coming together.

Excellent! Love them 600's, I had mine running last weekend. Loaded it up and put it in storage.

Re: 600 - first startup
More very slow progress on this 600. I recently had to re-paint the tank, so I finally strapped that in today, and the JDX4 hood I decided to use is now actually green! It's going to need some wet-sanding and more coats.

Looks like here...the sled you are working on, surrounded by the parts of about 15 others.

Hit the nail on the head there. You should see my work bench, there are probably parts from 3 different projects on it. It's always a mess.400brian wrote:Looks like here...the sled you are working on, surrounded by the parts of about 15 others.
