What to do with my 83 Liquifire?
Guys, I have been thinking about this for a while. A few months ago, I picked up an 83 Liquifire with 410 miles on it. By looking at everything on it, the mileage is correct. The track and snowflap are near mint, the gauges and controls aren't all faded, and there is little wear on the clutch (still has the TR800 setup). It also has a blown piston on the pto side. The story I got from the guy I bought it from said he got it out of a shed on a shelf where it had been sitting since the mid 80's. He took it out and rode it a little while, then it blew up. Most likely a bad seal from sitting for so long. I have a fresh rebuilt long block sitting on my bench. All I need to do is pull the HSR ignition off the old motor and slide the new one in. My indecision is, do I just put the new motor in and ride it, put the new motor in and save it as a "low mile survivor", or have a pretty easy restoration? The sled is pretty decent, but time has aged it a little as sitting in a non climate controlled building will do. I will try to post pictures tomorrow. I am currently in the middle of a restoration of another 83 Liquifire that will be my rider, and have several other sleds that would be ahead in line of this one for a complete resto, so I am a little torn on what I should do.

Leave it as a survivor and an occasional rider.

Here are a few photos of it. I haven't had a chance to clean the old girl up at all yet, so it's pretty dirty. I guess I hadn't really given any thought to selling it, but I do have two of these. And sorry about the poor photos, they were taken with a phone.

Clean it up, replace what it needs and that's it. Just stop the decay. Put me on the list if you want to find it a new home

Re: What to do with my 83 Liquifire?
I don't think I want to sell it right now, but I am still looking for an 83 Sportfire, 84 Trailfire, and an 84 Liquifire, so some trading might be possible. I have never been one to not put miles on my sleds, and I would probably be really tempted to start putting miles on her when I get the new engine in. (This explains why I have a 76 Liquifire with about 10,000 miles on it! )

Well, I got bored today and decided to start cleaning her up a bit. I will continue onto the engine bay next when I pull the motor.
