I love it, now that I have found a good cleaning solution to put in it! I bought it at Harbor Freight, used the powder junk they have on the shelf as a cleaning solution. I was unimpressed at first. After mulling it over, I decided I would give another shot with a proper carb cleaning solution. What I could find online was around $60/gal. I refuse to pay that, considering its about what I paid for the unit itself! So, I thought about trying Simple Green in there. Its not flammable, not corrosive, and non-toxic. I bought a gallon of it at Big R for $7, and tried it at full strength on a junk carb I had lying around. I makes quite a stink, but works very well. I would not recommend it for use in your house, lol!I wish I had a bigger cleaner now, something I could put an assembled set of 4 motorcycle carbs in.

Can anyone tell me if these are the correct ski's for a 1980 Liquifire? My '81 has something completely different on it for ski's. Also, someone put longer bolts the shock eyes, and it now has 2 shocks per ski. (Which I know is not correct)

Your skis look like aftermarket skis made by Steffes. The 81+ skis are different than 80 skis. The 80's had a wide opening where the shock mounts
80 Liquifire (purchased 1996 ~ Running)
80 Liquifire (purchased 2010 ~ Running....Now)
80 Liquifire (purchased 2011 ~ Not running - I officially have a problem now)
83 Snowfire (purchased 2014 father/son restoration project)
78 Spitfire ~ sold (should have been shot for this)

Thanks Nick! I figured there was something fishy, when the wear bars wouldnt fit quite right.

I will get pics of the '81 ski's shocks, and other parts...appreciate the info.

SO I have everything back together, except for one bolt on each ski.....(I will go shopping for that after work) Everything looks MUCH better. I used grade 8 hardware.
