Square back skis, look like early 70's Cat skis.

Tail edge looks worn trough also.

having some trouble getting the top coolant pipe off. bolts are not cooperating, er at least one isnt! it turns a little, and then feels like it could twist off :?

going sandblast the exhaust, and repaint.

Is there anything on the oil injection pump that I need to go through or check before putting this engine back in service?

There is a testing procedure for the oil pump in the service manual. It's available on vintagesnow.com if you don't have one.

Got the exhaust repainted with CAT Hi-Temp muffler paint...pics to come soon

Also, got the lower collant pipe blasted clean, and sprayed in a clear laquer. I will get pics of that too.

if you painted clear on aluminum that gets hot you may hate it, we did this on a motorcycle engine and the stuff turned brown and flaked off in little pieces, looked like it had a sun burn that was peeling...........
