Re: Custom 76 liquifire
Ok, I didn't like how high the xtra-10 set in the deere. I couldn't move it up in the tunnel any more with having track clearance issues. I still want to use a modern 121in track. I picked up a rear skid out of a jd trailfire. Many will say you can do that. But, with some metal, a welder and time, I feel I could do anything.
I had to but some solid steel spacers at the hardware store. Extended the rails out a 1/4in each side.

Re: Custom 76 liquifire
I will be eliminating the front springs. I will be making some brackets and installing a modern coil over. Borrowed that idea from rainville's I-500 racer. I will be installing limiting straps on the front bar as well. I will be fabing some brackets in the next few days.

Re: Custom 76 liquifire
Looking great! You are probably going to need to add a set of front idlers to the skid like the Liquifire has, to avoid burning off the slides where the rails curve.

Consider that you are going to need more cooling capacity for that big motor, and you have not painted it yet, and
it is a 1976, get a repop Joe Rainville Dator hood. Yes, a Liquidator clone. Big attention getter out on the trails.

I am seeing some through planning and very creative implementation of those ideas here.
Great work thus far. Keep it up.

Re: Custom 76 liquifire
I beating my head here. I need some ideas. I need to get the rear axle wheels extended out about a 1/4 of an inch. I usually can look at something and know what needs to be done. Kinda stuck at the moment.any advice would be helpful.

Re: Custom 76 liquifire
Extended out to the sides or back towards the snowflap? Larger diameter rear wheels then change your spacer to move them up 1/2 the difference so the bottom of the wheel is at the same spot.

Re: Custom 76 liquifire
The rear track adjuster axle. Square aluminum shaft. I need to pull the wheels out a 1/4 inch. Wheel size is not a problem.

Re: Custom 76 liquifire
Try the rear axle from the Extra-10. I had to cut slots into the axle to slide into the axle bracket. Now you can have three or four rear wheels eh.

Re: Custom 76 liquifire
I did try that. I need to grind down the square hole in the ajuster btackert a littlle more than an 1/8in. Problem is, the plastic square blocks are to big on the xtra 10. they hit on the rear suspension arm so it wont slide properly. I would also have to cut off the ajuster bolt block and move that down as well so the ajuster bolts will line up.

Re: Custom 76 liquifire
I just looked at my extra 10 and I understand the problem. Consider using a pipe/tube instead of the plastic blocks, then you can cut to fit.
