Need ideas for handle bar pad repair on 340/s
My handle bar pad is in perfect condition except the pins have all pulled out on one side. Basically I need to take the nuts off and put the pins back in the other side. Any ideas of a epoxy, glue, or whatever will secure them back in the pad so I can secure the pad back in place so I can re-tighten the nuts. Thanks.

I thing epoxy (2 part) would work but you will not be able to pull them out again.

If you want it to look like a I500 sled use black duct tape or electrical tape!!!

So on the the I-500 sleds they basically did that with the handle bar pad because they would pull apart racing anyway Ed? Viktory2k1, these are the pins that shouldn't pull out. The other end has the nuts on them so that would probably work good.

Duane, I would call Bill Tasky. He may know how to fix your sled.

Re: Need ideas for handle bar pad repair on 340/s
69camaro,
I have been watching this post as I have a nice handle bar pad without usable pins too, for a CC LF. Using the sled as of late without any pad and waiting a great solution.
I went back and looked at my pics from the day, for my 340/s and Liquidator. The stock pad was used on my 340/s during the races. Factory pad would make cable and wire replacement harder under the clock so I suppose some removed it for that reason and just cut off foam and tape if needed. My Liquidator just had foam and duct tape for a handle bar pad. I race with a open face helmet and the foam was looked at as a possible tooth saver. Remember taping a Timex watch on the bars too. This 19 & 20 year old thought it was a good idea at the time.
