Trailfire shocks
Does anybody have a source for new shocks that fit a 82 trailfire
Re: Trailfire shocks
I have two pairs of new/NOS AM55277 Ski Shocks available. These are very nice restoration-quality shocks. Please PM me if interested. Thank you.

Re: Trailfire shocks
Will a hydraulic ski shock work in place of a rear suspension shock?

Re: Trailfire shocks
I spent a little time on the suspension shock issue this summer and came up with a sense.trac #5752. It is a gas shock used on 1940s and 50s dodge and vw. It is just a little bit longer, about 3/4" but I installed one on my 84 sportfire and have no problems. The bushing that comes in the shock is a little bigger (5/8) so I bought a length of bushing stock from my local welding shop that is 5/8 od x 3/8 id (because apparently you can't buy 5/8 x 7/16) and cut it to 1 1/4" length then drilled out the inside to 7/16 then I had to trim the rubber bushing off of one side to make it fit the mount. once installed it looks great and works great for about $30 total investment!
