There is what appears to be a very nice on right now on Ebay. Not going to be cheap though. It's only about 40 miles from me but I won't be bidding. Ebay 161169667623

Not me but I sure had to think hard about it since it was so close. The winner got a nice survivor.

Re: wtb: 82 liquifire
I thought there should have been more pictures to verify the details. Was it real? I quit bidding at $1100 because I really wanted to see more, in my opinion.

While it brought good money, I totally agree that any good merchandiser would have posted several more pictures. "Submit Lots of Pictures" can be found on page one of a sales manual.AirborneX4Special wrote:I thought there should have been more pictures to verify the details. Was it real? Re: wtb: 82 liquifire
It was missing a couple parts. He thought they were around there somewhere. Would look for them after he was off house arrest. Pretty straight other than belly pan. Has been setting outside for a while now. I bid to $1250 and gave up. Wish I knew who bought it. They might have a story to tell when they goes to pick it up. Guy told me he had a 84 liquifire also for sale behind shed but turned out to be an 80.

Re: wtb: 82 liquifire
It just had that .... not exactly.... smell around it from my perspective. Nobody believes the odometer reading 32 seasons later but the guy could have at least posted a picture of it! Thanks for the on site reporting.
Re: wtb: 82 liquifire
Omg that's all I can say! I drove up the street and spotted the old Minnie that was in one of the picks, stopped out front of where the house was to be and no house! a bunch of junk piled around a old garage. So happened to see a neighbour directly across the street shoveling her lane out and asked her if she knew where the guy was,she said she had know idea his house burnt down awhile ago. I knew i was in the right spot by the pictures Posted on ebay.I finally decided to drive up the street and i seen it sitting outside 2 houses down.
Just got home with the sled, it should clean up real nice. The suspension, track, hood still looks like new, still has the tr800 on it. The miles???may be close I will have a better idea when i get it in the shop but defiantly not a high mile machine. I bet the sled was perfect before that dude got his hands on it. The windshield is on i-69 some where! oh and it was $1200 today(which is still to much)
Oh and silverbullet did you ask him what he was under house arrest for? I wasn't brave enough to.

Re: wtb: 82 liquifire
Black faceplate TR800? If the sled is all there and not messed up, 1200 is not way out of line. I thought the auction ended at 1300. Apparently you did some driving!
Re: wtb: 82 liquifire
Yep it has a black face tr800. What does this mean? I spent 5min fixing some cracked gas lines and it fired right up, I took it out for a test run and it runs strong. The suspension is real clean, track has no wear, the steering, ski bushings etc has no play in them. I'm thinking miles are not to far off. It just needs some minor fixing and a lot of elbow grease under the hood cleaning it up.

Re: wtb: 82 liquifire
Only 82's had the black faceplate clutch. I'd change the crank seals unless you think that sled has been run every year, which is unlikely. No sense leaning it out and melting down. Probably should get the carbs electrostatically cleaned if you can. Speedo and temp gauge work?
Re: wtb: 82 liquifire
Everything is working. I spent 2hrs washing under the hood and can't believe how the motor cleaned up. It looks like new. The clutch is unbelievable, looks like brand new.I can see blue factory paint markings down in side it. The bracket that hold the mud flap out has absolutly no paint missing from it. I'm sure the miles on this thing are right or very close. The only problem with it is the ding in the belly pan, paint on the skies and two small cracks in the seat. After driving it, I really need to get my 84lf finished up and out in some snow!

You should post some pictures. Sounds like it is a nice machine.
