Isn't the amber reflector virtical on the 76's? I zoomed in the page and I don't see any sign of the bumps in the belly pan.
Old sleds are hours of entertainment.... then you get to ride them for a little bit.

Re: Indiana craigslist Liquifire
Not to overstate the obvious, but a lot of folks mistake the build date for the model year. For example, if that sled was built in 9/76, it's a 77 model year. That is way going by the serial number is the best bet.
Off the top of my head (I think these are right)
55,001 - 1976 Model year
70,001 - 1977
80,000 - 1978
The 76 Also had a reflective leaping Deere sticker on the side of the hood, a steel belt guard, and ribs on the side of the belly pan. Underhood the bottom bracket for the stearing shaft was steel in 76 and the motor mount had a large cross bar for the front mounts. I think all the was changed for 77.

Ok , so I used another and better computer to see pics.. pan has no bumps and really appears to be a 77. I sent this guy another tex asking about the manufacturer date if it says 75 or 76. Lets see if he responds. If its a 77 than I would be interested in a .road trip?..... if its gone by than, that's the way it goes.

ok , so after 10 days of eyeing this ad I contacted the seller to see if it was still available and to my surprise it was! . my cousin who lives near Kalamazoo was able to stop and pick it up for me on her way here for the holidays . the sled is kind of a mess of parts but is very cool in its own way . it appears to have had a replacement tunnel at some point it is a 77 tunnel with 55xxx stamped on it is has a 78 bumper otherwise its pretty standard issue 76 with aaen exhaust . it does have an aluminum extension riveted to the 76 belt guard similar to the 78s ill get some pics . wade

Re: Indiana craigslist Liquifire
Good job Wade.. I actually looked at this sled pretty hard and almost bought it. Owner had lowered the price and I had several people ready to haul. Just couldn't do it. I love the 77,s but after Lee Fredrickson of Classic Muscle Sleds dropped one off in my yard and I was informed by another member of this site and a buddy of mine that they also had found me one and was waiting for me in Canada........ Well you get the picture. How many sleds does a guy need. right?....... Seems like every sled I buy that is nice and complete...It never turns out that way and I end up tearing it apart anyway. So I will end up getting parts together and just build my own sled and be done with it..... Looked like a real nice sled with some unusual features added............Take that thing out and she if it rips or not... Enjoy it , as they are very cool and by far my favorite all time sled.
